Online mental health support offers an alternative to traditional mental health support, and can be a valuable first step towards helping you deal with issues such as relationship problems, difficult emotions, stress, learning difficulties or vocational issues. Support and advice is offered by a team of psychology experts, who are all trained in psychology, psychotherapy or counselling. Each email is read in detail and carefully responded to by a member of our team. ePsychologist is a completely anonymous and confidential service, and the only information that you need to provide is a valid email address.
ePsychologist offers a first point of contact with a mental health professional. It is not a psychotherapy service, and it cannot replace face-to-face contact. Depending on the nature of the query, direct email support will be given, or you may be recommended to contact another more appropriate service.
Online mental health support is not suitable if you are suffering from a serious mental health disorder or are currently being treated pharmacologically. In such cases email support may provide ideas about who to contact, but generally we recommend visiting a psychologist, psychotherapist, GP or psychiatrist.
We want to emphasize that ePsychologist support is not a form of traditional psychotherapy. It offers a first point of contact with a mental health professional.
